Pure Harmony Music & Events is proud to announce that on Monday October 5th, 2020, International theatre director, choreographer, actress and educator, Aku Kadogo will be holding a Masterclass, The Story in the Song, for Music Theatre singers, actors and students in Sydney.  Each singer will get a 20 minute slot to work with Ms Kadogo on one song of choice to help them find the inner meaning of the song and communicate it in their own unique way. Observers are also welcome to sit and watch this very special Masterclass.

Aku Kadogo is the Chair of the Department of Theatre and Performance at Spelman College having arrived there in 2014 as Distinguished Visiting Scholar in the Arts.
An international theatre director, choreographer, educator and cultural arts preservationist, this multi-faceted artist directs highly energetic, imaginative theatre works. Foremost of her interests is producing innovative, collaborative inter-disciplinary projects and original works. Kadogo’s most recent collaboration is with writer Jessica Care Moore on Salt City: A Techno Choreopoem performed in June 2019 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit courtesy of Knight Foundation and Joyce Foundation grants.
Her eclectic career has spanned the United States, Australia, Europe and Asia. She has been an Associate Choreographer on RENT, touring Australia, China and the United States and Associate Director on Les Miserable.
She has devised original works in Australia and South Korea. She has worked on several Olympic festivals and as a performer she has worked in film, television and stage making her career debut in the original Broadway classic of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf by Ntozake Shange.
